My poor niece! I shot this wedding so long ago and she has waited and waited and waited so patiently for her pictures! So here they are and "wow" what an elegant wedding.

We decided to go early in the morning to the salt lake temple and do a pre-shoot while there was no one on the temple grounds. The grounds were in perfect bloom with tulips and daffodils everywhere, it was beautiful.....the day before! When we arrived at the temple grounds there were people everywhere. All the singles wards from BYU were on the temple grounds doing a "service project" of pulling out all the flowers and tilling up the dirt. Wow, thanks. ;) There were hundreds of people everywhere with shovels, rakes, wheel barels etc. So we tried to make the best of it and work around all the workers. I had to photoshop a worker here and there out of a few pictures, but overall they turned out pretty good. The reception was held at a restaurant up by Park City and it was breath taking.

"Family" one of my favorite words; and I love taking pictures of them! I have shot so many families over the past couple of months and unfortunately I do not have time to dedicate a post to every family so I thought I would combine them in one post. Every family is unique, but I love shooting each one. Maybe after I get caught up on all these families I will have time to blog each family shoot again. And maybe after I get caught up I'll have time to shoot my own family! (trust me, they don't mind :) They see my camera and they run the other way.)

Graduation girls!

I know this post is way overdue, but I just wanted to post these so all those future graduates can start thinking about some fun pictures for graduation. Kim and Lexie wanted to do some "best friend" pictures before graduation in their caps and gowns. We had a blast and I have missed their creative imput in my business. The two of them were always looking for new locations and thinking of new ideas for me to shoot.

Also I am totally booked for October and I am almost booked for November. Also I will not be doing any family shoots after Thanksgiving, IF you want them for Christmas. If you do not need them before Christmas I am very happy to shoot them after Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for everyone being so patient. I am a one woman show and sometimes I get overwhelmed, so THANK YOU!!

I have a lot of people ask me if I do missionary pictures and the answer is YES! I love taking missionary pictures. This year I have had the privledge of taking pictures for several young people who are on their way into the mission field. I have special pricing for missionaries and I usually combine them with a family shoot, call me for details. So, this post is dedicated to the missionaries who have decided to dedicate their lives to service.

What a beautiful couple and I had the privledge of taking their pictures! I had Justin many moons ago as a student and I was happy to see he has finally decided to tye the knot ;) Dana waited six years for him to pop the question, what a patient girl! I just couldn't take a bad picture of the couple! Justin owns a company that does extreme graphic design/art, so they were game for some very artistic grungy shots, I had so much fun. I know, I know, I vowed to stay caught up on this blog and I have done the exact opposite! I thought summer time would allow me more time to get caught up on this poor thing, but summer is gone and I am back in school. I guess I just do better when I'm on a tight schedule with a limited amount of time. It seems like the less time I have, the more I get done because I know I won't have time to do it later. Anywho...

I have needed to blog this wedding for a LONG time and I am finally getting around to getting it done. I just love this couple to bits and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire time I got to spend with them. They are so cute together and I know they will have a long and happy life together. What a beautiful day, we started at the Logan temple and ended the evening with a beautiful reception in Tyson's parents backyard (wow, what a yard). Everything was so well planned and it was just a relaxing fun evening, not to mention the perfect weather! Thank you Tyson and Gentry...James, that sounds good together!

Oh my goodness, I am so far behind on blogging! I have so much I need and want to write about. It's all coming! I have done quite a few family sessions so I don't know if I'll have time to blog about all of those, maybe a quick post. I was super busy with weddings in June and I cannot wait to get those on here. But until then enjoy this handsome little man in his Sunday best.

My good friend called me a while back and asked if I could do a quick mini session of her baby in his Easter outfit. He looked so handsome. I have a feeling in about 10 years, the girls will be calling! Despite the fact that we were all eaten alive by mosquitoes, we got some great shots.

When I woke up on the morning of this wedding, I looked outside and sure enough it was as the weatherman had prediced...RAIN! It wasn't just a little sprinkle either, it was full on downpour. But this did not dampen the spirit of this bride and groom. They were well prepared with matching unbrellas and big smiles. The reception that evening was so beautiful and there was such a great energy! There was a big band and it took me back to another era. I loved every minute of it!!

This cute couple is ready for marriage! He is living in Idaho and she is living in Utah so they have had to live through a long distance romance so they are excited to end the comute and get married. What a beautiful time of year for pictures, so green and the flowers are just starting emerge. I had the privledge of taking pictures for these two cute sisters. One was graduating from Skyview high school and the other was graduating from U.S.U. They are both headed to B.Y.U. together so one can work on her bachelors and one can work on her masters. We had so much fun and I think we got some great shots of the two of them together. This is also my last senior for 2009, 29 senior shoots this year, thanks to all those seniors! I love shooting seniors, it has been a blast. I am actually starting 2010 shoots right now, in fact I have my first shoot this weekend. Book your senior session right now to avoid last minute stress :) I don't book any senior sessions after spring break, cause I start to loose my mind toward the end of the school year. I know, I know...some might argue I already lost it long ago ;)

My computer and a senior...

My mother board went out on my (not very old....grrrr) computer last Friday and I feel like I have lost touch with all reality, which isn't a bad thing, but boy was I stressed about all the photos on my computer!! Luckily everything was backed up but I went into depression mode for a while. My bro in law hooked me up with a back up computer and it basically has my photos and cs4 and that's about it. I hooked it up to my nice monitor and I'm back in business. It runs pretty slow, but it's doing the job! Once again I hate to ask this, but if you are waiting for pictures please be patient. I'm working as fast as this little back up computer will let me. My computer will be back in two weeks, it was still under warranty, yahoo!

But let's move on to a happy note! This is Trae, he wasn't too thrilled about getting his pictures taken, but he loves his mom, so he agreed to do it. I am so glad he did! He later admitted that is wasn't that bad. He looks great in every picture and we had fun with his soccer uniform and ball. I know there will be more than just his mom drooling over these pictures!

This girl is one of the most photogenic people I have ever come in contact with! The camera loves her face! Doesn't she look like a movie star?? Namely Cathrine Zeta Jones? She has been going to beauty school her senior year and just about done so we decided to get some fun shots with her blowdryer, watch out...the blow dryer's not the only thing that hot! haha, ok my lame attempt at making a joke. We ventured out of the valley and went over to bear lake for a senior shoot. It was so nice to have some fresh scenery!!! This poor girl was so car sick by the time we got there she could barely move. But a little fresh air and a couple of clicks and she was workin the camera like a champ! Wow! What a beautiful couple! They were high school sweethearts and as you can see they are best friends. They were such a fun couple to shoot and once again so willing to do whatever I asked! The bride was one of my students one upon a time so I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding. Tyson was such a good sport even when I asked him to "frolic" through the grass. Tis the season to shoot a senior, photograph that is :) I loved this session with this girl and her family. We took a little time to snap some pictures of her family before we got down to business. They were so fun! Her parents had actually come to my class for a guest panel on how to have a "happy marriage", so I knew they would be a complete riot. I now know the secret to a happy marriage...laugh A LOT!!! They had so many pictures of their family laughing and I will post those later, but for now enjoy their beautiful daughter Janessa!

It's not very often that I get to do a baby so I was really excited when one of my students from my very first year of teaching got in touch with me. She asked me if I would take some pictures of her fourth baby, that tells you how long I have been teaching! I posted some of the girls below and after three tries they got a little boy. Boys are something I know a little bit about so when he pee'd on my arm it didn't even phase me. As you can tell in these pictures the poor little thing doesn't get any attention ;)

I needed a break from editing pictures for a little while and created these two story boards for my friends Annie and Jason. I really wanted these pictures to be blurry so you could really feel the action in the pictures. I tried to keep one little face clear in each shot. This cute guy traveled all the way down from Malad Idaho and isn't he handsome!? I am actually good friends with all his sisters and he is the only boy right in the middle of all of them. Whew! I have been wanting to post this wedding for a long time, but I have been so busy it had to wait. So thank you to everyone who was patiently waiting for this wedding post. Kim was a student of mine a few years ago and when she contacted me to do her pictures not even her family knew she was going to get engaged. I had to keep it secret which was so hard because I saw her sister everyday! We had to do some sneaky planning because these two are actually going to college in the mid west and we only had a window of time to do the pictures when they would be home on break. We did lots and lots of emailing and texting to coordinate it all. But WOW, they did such a good job with all the details it turned out to be completely stunning.

And look at her isn't she completely beautiful, I can say that because she is my niece. :) She is my last niece on my side to get married and since I don't have any daughters of my own, I guess this is it. The closest I'll get to actually having a daughter get married. I hope this puts the pressure on my boys to find some awesome wives so I can finally have some daughters! I think all my seniors are getting senioritis, or maybe it's me! I guess I am looking forward to summer break too, but as the end of the school year draws near...my schedule fills up with shoots for anxious seniors. Awe....to be young again. These two little love birds were about as cute as they come! It was Freeeeezing, but the two of them acted like it was a warm summer day. I guess true love really does make you warm all over...neither one of them seemed to care about the cold at all. I loved getting some indoor shots, in such a spectcular location. I also loved the picture of her dad's face when she gave him a smooch. I'm not sure if he's happy about the kiss on the cheek or the thought of not paying for anything else wedding related... What a fun shoot, she was such a pretty girl and like many others, willing to do whatever I asked! She was so willing to lay in the dirt and climb around in heels. Her mom came along and we even got a few shots of them together. I was going to post a picture of the two of them but I thought I better ask mom if she would mind being posted for the world to see. She was such a fun mom and the three of us a great time! Thanks Savanah and mom!!!

What a workout!!

The old saying goes that kids act the worst for their own mom...Case in point, I TRIED to take some pics of my own kids. I decided it was time and we needed some updated pictures of our own. BOY oh BOY, they made me work for my money, there was crying, punching, frowning, grumbling and sighing. What am I saying work for my money? I did it all for free and it was quite the experience. Needless to say I think we got some good shots. And later that night after they were asleep and the house was finally quite. I looked around and saw their earlier attire strewn about the house, popcorn spilled on the carpet, marshmallows stuck to the tv, I felt pretty pathetic as a mother. But as I sat and edited each little face I was reminded why I love each one of them. Family really is best, even when they growl and bite.

So tonight I did a quick mini sessions of a few cheerleaders for an end of the year book they are making. I said to them "let me drive my husbands truck so we don't get stuck in the snow". Well...let's just say the last picture in this post says it all. Even though they were all shivering, I thought we got some beautiful shots. Talk about family support! This girl is the only girl in the family of all boys and she is the baby so she gets a little, ok a lot, of attention, from her older brothers! Everyone was in attendance for this shoot, she had so much family support. They are a family of racers, they all race cars including mom. We got some fun shots of her with one of the race cars. This girl was so fun, she just kept laughing and laughing which made for some great pictures. After a while she hauled out her big dog, he was so happy to see her he was jumping all over her. It was very very chilly and I was thankful to have a coat on. She didn't complain one time and it doesn't even look like she was one bit cold. Thanks Kenz!

I am lucky or what, I get to photograph the most fun people! Ahhh, Sarah and Justin, so in love and so happy. Their big day is not until February but they wanted to get the stressful stuff over with, so they can relax on the actually day. It was chilly outside but the bride was a good sport and never complained. I would have to say the first picture is my favorite.

So, when I went to California I did a shoot for a family that has two boys and one girl. This little girl is ALL girl and she knows how to work it! She came up with all her own poses, I think she has been practicing! She was an absolute doll and just for fun I created a magazine cover, trying to convice the mother that, yes, this little girl could make some serious money! She needed no help in front of the camera and I was ready to take her home with me! SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!What do you think??

Fairytale wedding!

What a beautiful day for a wedding! We had so much snow the week before I was just sure it would snow and blow on their day, but it was all sunshine and warmth. Doesn't she just look like a princess in her dress and he is her prince charming. I was so glad I got to be a part of this fairytale! Ok, so even fairytales have a bit of reality...scroll down to the bottom to see why. Thanks Todd and Elaine!

My assistant Charcie snapped this picture and it was one of my favorites. The bride kept blowing bubbles and we just had to get a shot of it. So cute!

The groom is the only boy in a family of all girls, so I just had to include this one of his sisters giving him a smooch, I love the expression on his face.

So even fairytales have glitches, this poor bride slipped and feel right on her rear end, she just laughed and was such a good sport about it!

I had the chance to go out to California and do three photo shoots, we had rainy weather, but things still turned out just great! Look at this stunning little beauty! She was nervous, but she quickly became a pro. And if you think she is pretty on the outside, she is equally as pretty on the inside! She is a such a sweet kind person. The mom of this family is a dear friend of mine and she really wanted to get some pictures with the whole family when they were all in town together. We had a three day window to get this family done and two of those days it was a complete blizzard. But we sure lucked out with beautiful weather this day and a beautiful family! These kids decided to secretly get together and get their pictures taken for the their parents Christmas present. Such nice kids to do something like this. I hope my kids do that for me someday...except wait...I would be the one taking the pictures! I loved this first photo, I told them they could be members of the Cullen family, for those of you Twilight fans. So beautiful, mysterious and vampire-ish! Great kids!

This cute couple needed some quick pictures for a Christmas gift so we did a mini session and we couldn't have asked for better weather. She is one of my very best friends...I know what you thinking, um...isn't there a huge generation gap? I am finally getting the chance to post this cute family. From the day I downloaded their pictures I wanted to plaster them all over my blog...but in due time. I have had millions of pictures I have needed to get out and so they had to wait...they were fine, I was impatient! If you look below you will see why. This baby was probably the most fun I've ever had shooting a baby, just look at those expressions on his face...a different one every time. I could have posted 50 more and each one would have a different expression. He was such a happy little guy, I think it comes from his parents, they are such a fun family. Yes, his dad is slightly crazy :) and I think that's where baby Mason gets it from. Such a cute family they look like they could be models in an aeropostal ad.

Ok, so I ask my clients to "trust me" when I take them to locations. But I must say this girl was putting some major trust in me because I took her to a serious heap of junk for her pics. She was so willing and didn't mind one bit. I kept refering to the pile of junk as my studio. We had a lot of fun even though she ended up with mechanic grease all over her arms. Thanks Kenzie it was so much fun and there are a lot more where these came from.....

That's right, count em...this family has six boys and yes their mom is still smiling ;). They were so well behaved I was starting to dought my own parenting skills, so at one point I asked them to please punch each other in the arm or at least act like they were fighting. Their parents assured me they were "bribed and threatened" before the shoot, so I felt much better. They really were such a great family and I think we got some great candid shots. I love the picture of mom and dad kissing, make sure you look at the twins expressions on their faces....so funny. Thanks Allison, your little family was great you should be proud...you are raising some great men.

They were so funny, they loved posing for the camera and toward the end of the shoot they even got out their ropes and started roping, it was so stinkin cute. Their mom is a good friend of mine from work and I was so excited to do something different. I thought they turned out great. What a fun family! I hadn't met this family before the shoot and when they showed up they just kept piling out of the car, 7 kids total. I had never shot a family that laughed as much as they did. They had so much fun together! When I took pics of all the boys together they just kept teasing each other and laughing, it was hard to get a serious one. I know I shouldn't use my photography website for my own kids but....oh, well I couldn't resist. I thought Dawson looked so cute in his bee costume I took him out for a mini session. If anybody wants to do a mini session with their kids in their costumes, I'm totally up for it. No one would ever know the pictures weren't taken on halloween. I could not get him to crack a smile but that's ok, a pouty bee works too.

Could it get any better than this...she is absolutely beautiful! We had to weather another storm and she was a real trooper. And talk about family support! I couldn't have done it without her family, they helped her get dressed, hold unbrellas and carry my props. What a great shoot, I don't think these pictures could have turned out any better! I am finally starting a blog just for my photog business. Yahoo, I hope to post often and keep everything up to date. But now back to my two cute nieces. I have not been blessed with daughters and I only have four nieces, so when I get the chance, I love shooting pics of them. They brought their families up to Logan last night and we had a blast they are absolutely beautiful girls and their husbands aren't too bad either ;).
